Colossus wants to make your holiday memorable - we have morning discussions about what's on, where to visit, weather forecasts and general island information (speacialising in local wrecks and wild flowers). When I'm not sea swimming, foraging or ironing, I spend my afternoons busy in the garden growing fresh fruit for breakfast strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants etc. Blackberry picking in autumn for home-made breakfast preserves. Eggs are sourced from a farm close by - lovely fresh yellow yolks.
Situated in a quiet location overlooking the lower moors. Take a right and its a 7 minute walk to Hugh Town, with shops, restaurants, public houses and three beaches. Then 2 minutes further brings you to the harbour and boats to take you to the off-islands. Take a left and its a 5 minute walk to the picturesque village of Old Town, with cafes and art and craft studios.
Within a few minutes walk you can find yourself on a coastal path which leads you directly to rugged Peninnis Headland and its late 19th Century built Lighthouse.

Booking conditions for off line bookings (payment by debit card or bank transfer available )
Bookings taken by email or telephone: We can hold a booking for 48 hours to allow you to book your transport to and from the islands. To confirm your booking we require a £100 deposit which can be made by bank transfer or debit card. For bookings of two nights or less full payment is required. By paying a deposit you agree that you have read and understood our terms and conditions which are on our website. On receipt of a deposit a confirmation email (or letter) will be sent to you. The remaining amount is then due 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.
Deposits are non transferable and non refundable, whilst every effort will be made to re-let cancelled accommodation a charge of 95% of the total cost will be due if the accommodation is not re-let. If cancellation is within 7 days of arrival the full cost will be due. Your card details will only be stored securely for as long as it takes to complete your transaction with us.
Please take out holiday insurance against such eventuality and also for travel delays etc.
2 If due to circumstances beyond our control our accommodation is unavailable we will endeavour to find an alternative. This cannot be guaranteed.
3 The Proprietors reserve the right to claim from the tenant the value of any damage to fixtures, fittings and contents, breakages or theft.
4 The person making the booking must have reached the age of 18 years.
5 The accommodation must not be sub-let without the permission of the proprietors. Only the named person who booked and the number there-of, may occupy the room/s.
6 The room/s must be left in a clean and tidy condition. The proprietors reserve the right of access to rooms for checking and maintenance at any time and also for daily servicing. Every consideration will, of course, be given to the privacy of the guests.
7 No liability can be accepted for any personal injury, or loss or damage to guests property and that cover should be secured by the guests insurance.
Two rooms are on the ground floor and another area is the first floor. There are 20 steps leading down to the front door from the roadway with a sturdy handrail and very well lit.
Our accommodation is not suitable for wheelchair bound guests however we are able to accommodate those with visual and/or hearing impairments, but to ensure your safety, I advise that guests should be accompanied.
