Banfield's Holiday Flats - 'Midships' flat - St. Mary's
Banfield’s Holiday Flats: 'Midships’ (flat featured), ‘Top Deck’, ‘Quarter Deck’ and the ‘Flatlet’, are all two person flats fitted out to a high standard, providing you with comfortable accommodation, close to the town centre and the quay. They are locally owned and managed. For vacancies - see below. Further details, including a walk round video tour, can be found on our website - www.banfieldsholidayflats.com
Located opposite the Museum in Church Street, the flats are close to the shops, pubs, restaurants, and quay. The house was originally built for a member of the famous, Scillonian, ship-building family of Edwards, in the 1830’s. Taken on in 1993, and subsequently converted, Roger & Kathy now offer three self-catering flats equipped to a high standard. A fourth, studio flat, with its own small garden, is also available, on ground level and accessed from Buzza Street.
Midships – created from the first floor rooms, provides a separate bedroom for two, with en suite shower, large lounge/kitchen/diningroom. The high ceilings and large windows add spaciousness to the flat. Thursday change-over day.
On entering the flat there is a small lobby with doors which lead to either the front room, bedroom or toilet.
The front room, which is a combined kitchen/diner and lounge, has high ceilings and is light and airy. On the left is a modern kitchen/diner with built in electric oven, microwave, ceramic hob, fridge, washer/dryer, drop leaf dining table and chairs. There is a kettle and toaster. An iron and ironing board are also provided.
Separated from the kitchen by an arch is the lounge which has a three seat settee and cushions and a coffee table. In the corner is a 23” flat-screen television with Freesat-plus box, and a DVD player. CD’s can be played on the music centre. The two large windows overlook the small garden and Church Street. Heating is by an electric convector heater. Switches and dimmers provide flexible lighting in both the lounge and kitchen.
The bedroom has a 4’ 6” double bed with individual bed-head lights, and main centre light. Diagonally opposite the entrance door is a built-in wardrobe, dressing table and mirror. The wash basin is in the window and to the right of this is an en-suite electric shower. A hair dryer is provided. Heating is from a wall mounted convector heater and an electric towel rail.
This room has a 19” flat-screen television and Freesat box, also a clock radio.
