Daymark 1683 is a newly launched dark rum, 100% produced and distilled in the UK.

Infused with hand-picked Samphire from St Martins and Cornish Sea Salt, it takes both its name and inspiration from the Isles of Scilly.

The poem on the rear label written by the family, describes where the name was derived. 

 

If you head out from Cornwall’s end,

due West in 30 miles you’ll see,

On Scilly’s shore, our islands door

The Daymark;1683

 

The lighthouse white and indistinct,

One ship confused the shore.

Then run aground and struck by waves,

four fell to ocean’s floor.

 

In remedy of tragedy 

the landmark got her stripes.

Now red and white, now we’ll-defined

our island’s guiding light.

 

This heritage, their character,

that one great fallen mast,

Are spirit to our branded rum,

which honour this island’s past.
