This much-loved traditional stone Inn on St. Martin’s is hosting a very special guest… chef, author and photographer James Strawbridge!
Best known for his outdoor cooking, affinity for wild food foraging and his easy, natural approach to local, seasonal produce, James has created a menu of ‘Strawbridge Specials’ for one day only!
Featuring hyper-local ingredients, dishes will include lobster, beef, crab and a veggie option all cooked over fire on the terrace, with far reaching views across the Eastern Isles and St. Mary’s. Expect cocktails on the bar featuring SC Dogs Rum and Vodka, plus wines from St. Martin’s Vineyard - both less than a mile away.
Food choices:
Grilled half lobster, served with Scilly-sea-salted new potatoes, foraged St. Martin’s seaweed, smokey garlic-drenched corn on the cobs and a crunchy chopped salad. A Strawbridge Scillonian twist on an old classic!

A Strawbridge take on surf and turf; a traditional beef pattie topped with crispy oyster and loaded with red onions, samphire, watercress, pickles and sauces, served with an apple, fennel, celeriac, orange and rosemary slaw.… a total flavour explosion!

‘Crab dogs’ with crab mac’n’cheese.
Morning-caught white and brown crabmeat in a tasty lemon, chive, shallot and caper mayo, served in a brioche hotdog bun, alongside cooked crab claws dripping in chilli and coriander butter. This dish also comes with a side of creamy, crabby, mustardy, three cheese macaroni, drizzled with truffle oil… you ‘crabsolutely’ must try this!
