About

When it comes to the very best in local produce and the number of food miles travelled, the Isles of Scilly is in a league of its own.

Nowhere is local produce more local - or as pure simple and authentic.  Just as nature intended.

So what better way to showcase this enchanting archipelago's island-grown delights than at the fourth annual Taste of Scilly festival that runs throughout September?

The festival kicks off in style on 1st September with the incredible, and unique, Low Tide Experience. For two to three hours only, visitors roll up their trouser legs to reach a sandbank between Tresco & Bryher for this ultra mini-food festival that serves up bowls of locally harvested garlic mussels, seafood paella dished directly from a beached fishing boat, Tresco salt beef and Scilly mackerel baps washed down with fabulous gin cocktails and prosecco, whilst being serenaded with live music - an experience not to be missed.

The Taste of Scilly sell out Island Hopping Supper Safaris make a welcome return this year too - where diners feast on a different course on a different island, exclusively chaperoned by private boat charter - alongside some new additions to the programme for 2019...

The Best of Bryher evening sees the island's cafe cook up a fabulous dinner for guests using fresh produce solely from the island's Hillside Farm where owner Graham Eggins will also give a talk about his sustainable farming methods and the food they produce.

Also new for 2019 are a series of Distillery Tours and Gin Schools at the brand new Spirit Scilly distillery on St Mary's where you can spend a happy three hours browsing any number of their 60 botanicals cabinet and crafting your own delicious juniper creation to taste and take home alongside a bottle of award-winning Island Gin.

Once again, Taste of Scilly will be packed with events that showcase the unique low-food miles, slow food culture of our famously unspoilt islands. There is a fresh foodie experience to savour every day - from lobster feasts to Scilonian produce markets as well as beach barbecues and pop-up crab shack evenings, paella nights, Scillonian taster menus, local ales and wine pairing dining experiences.

The evening programme will be supplemented with working family-farm tours and tastings, gin tastings, baking competitions and afternoons learning how to crimp your own pasties.  Across the islands there'll be lots of special Taste of Scilly offers and stories to be shared amongst all our passionate local producers, be they bakers, brewers, chefs, farmers, fishermen or fantastic foodie producers.

Look out for the full programme, coming very soon.
