From St. Mary's
Planning a visit to another island?
Want to head off on a trip from St. Mary’s? There are many boating options available. Most likely you’ll be looking to have a day out on one of the “off islands” – Tresco, St. Martin’s, St. Agnes and Bryher. The St Mary's Boatmen's Association run trips every day throughout the day to each of these islands between April and October inclusive.
They also run frequent boat trips to the uninhabited islands including Samson, as well as offer circular day trips, seabird specials, fishing and pelagic specials, trips to Bishop Rock Lighthouse, evening “supper” boats and trips to follow the pilot gig races on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Daily trips also run in March and November, and over Christmas and New Year, but they are not quite so frequent.
On St. Mary's, all the boat times are advertised at the Isles of Scilly Tourism Information Centre located on Porthcressa Beach as well as on the boards on the quay and in Hugh Town. The St. Mary's Boatmen Association is also on Facebook and Twitter @scillyboating.
There are also numerous trips from St. Mary’s offering private trips to see seals, puffins, seabirds and a wealth of other wildlife.
