Christmas on Scilly, far from the madding crowds!

The simplicity of Scilly's Christmas lights

If you're looking for a quieter, romantic getaway this Christmas, there's no better place in England than here on the Isles of Scilly. Definitely no crowds and Christmas hype - just long, blowy island walks, fields of stunning scented narcissi, unspoilt beaches to yourselves, exposed headlands and coves to explore, all coupled with quiet cosy evenings in the islands' pubs with their log fires, tasty tipples and tales of island life.

A time of year when many islanders return home to their relatives, Scilly celebrates Christmas with unassuming style - simple yet beautiful Christmas lights, sophisticated shopping with local produce markets and craft fairs at its core, intimate Christmas concerts and a wonderful community-led Walking Nativity.

Once again this year, we'll also celebrate the Scillonian homecomings with our Scillonian Christmas Festival. Throughout the evening of Friday 23rd December, the community and visitors welcome the start of Christmas with a street party on St. Mary's complete with festive games, gingerbread house competitions, mulled wine, mince pies and local fayre, Father Christmas, bands, street performers and more!

So, get away from the mainland's madding crowd and book your island escape with Christmas. There's nothing like the magic of Christmas on Scilly!
