Get ready for Walk Scilly 2015
The Isles of Scilly, every inch an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is once again preparing for the popular week-long walking festival, Walk Scilly.
Walk Scilly 2015, from 11th to 17th April, will offer more than 20 guided walks across Scilly’s five inhabited islands, as well as one or two of the uninhabited ones. Walkers will be able to delve into the islands’ amazing heritage and wildlife, go on a stroll through the world-famous sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Garden, or take in the endless white sand beaches, rocky coves and stunning seascapes on some of the islands’ top-to-toe walks.
There’ll be a range of activities to immerse walkers in Scillonian life. Forage for food and watch local chefs conjure up a dish from your pickings, enjoy a guided walk around a traditional Scilly flower farm and discover the history of Scilly’s uninhabited islands, including Samson and, new for this year, Tean.
If that’s not active enough for you, special cycling, horse riding and diving activities will be on offer throughout the week. There’ll be evening events, too, such as music nights and supper boat trips to the off islands for brief sundowner walks followed by an evening meal.
If you like to welcome spring by stretching your legs, you can’t miss Walk Scilly. Book early to take advantage of a 10% travel discount with Isles of Scilly Travel (Quote Walk Scilly).
