The Tresco & Bryher Food Festival is back!
This weekend sees the return of the annual Tresco & Bryher Food Festival - two days to indulge yourselves in the best of what Scilly offers, alongside some of our favourite chefs and suppliers from Cornwall and Devon who work closely with the islands' producers.
On Saturday 13th, Tresco will be hosting a Food Market in Smith's Square from 10.30am - 1pm showcasing the best of local Scillonian produce. You can sample and buy Tresco Beef, wines from St Martin's Vineyard, Ales of Scilly beers, Troytown Farm icecreams, Salakee Farm duck, St Martin's sea salt, crab and lobster from Penders of Bryher, and locally caught mackeral and pollock. Becky Lock will be showing off and selling her amazing cakes, Boro Farm and the Abbey Garden will be selling fresh produce and Tracey Badcock's will selling her home made pasties.
There'll also be a number of special events - a Tresco Beef and Lobster lunch at the New Inn, Wine Tasting, and Fish Filleting and Shrimping (catching and cooking) masterclasses both at the Flying Boat restaurant. In the evening, there's a difficult choice to make: do you head to the Ruin Beach Cafe for Jamie Oliver's Fifteen five course tasting menu, do you indulge in a Tresco Surf 'n' Turf featst at the Flying Boat Restaurant or do you head to Bryher for a special festival menu at Fraggle Rock?
On Sunday 14th, it's the turn for Bryher to host the festival - a food market between 10.30am and 3pm at the Bryher Community Centre with Veronica Farm Fudge, Salakee Farm Duck, Aimee's Homemade Breads, plus local goodies from Fraggle Rock, Tanglewood Kitchen, Vine Cafe, and Bryher Shop. Children will also get the chance to make their own ice cream sundaes and to take part in a "Plant your own Veg" session. And in the evening enjoy a feast at the Crab Shack, set in the rounds of the Hell Bay Hotel between 6pm and 8pm.
