A whale that was spotted last month by two local St. Martin's residents - Anna Cawthray and Fay Page - has resulted in a species record of global significance. Bowhead whales are usually found in the Arctic, and according to the SeaWatch Foundation, this was the first record of the species being seen in either British or European waters.
