Paint the Day

Saturday May 12th 2018

Have you ever thought to capture the life, soul or spirit of Scilly on canvas, or as a watercolour? Or perhaps as a sketch or screen-print? Well now’s your chance!

“Paint the Day”, an original competition and exhibition featuring local established artists, the Five Islands School, and budding, visiting artists, will launch and headline this year’s Art Scilly festival, taking place from 12th - 19th May across the Islands. Professionals, amateur enthusiasts, visitors and young people are all invited to sign up and produce an original artwork recording any aspect of Scilly on just one day - Saturday 12th May. All artworks must be completed within an eight-hour time slot - between 9am and 5pm - and will then be exhibited for free in a pop-up gallery on St. Mary’s, which will be open as part of Art Scilly Week. Prizes will be awarded in three categories, work will be exhibited for free, and offered for sale if you wish, to provide a unique souvenir of this amazing event. Watercolour sets will be available on the day for a small cost.

Register at the Tourist Information Centre on the day or in advance by emailing with your name, email address and telephone number. In registering you agree to the terms and conditions.

If you have any questions please email: or phone the Islands' Partnership on 01720 620601.
