Things to do

Never a dull moment

If you’re looking for things to do on Scilly, you won’t have far to search. From dawn till dusk (and later if you like) there are awe-inspiring sites, amazing sporting activities, wonderful galleries and craftshops to browse, unique attractions and fabulous places to eat.

Whether you are visiting for the first or the 40th time, there’s plenty to see and plenty to do. In fact, the more you peel back the layers of these fascinating islands, the more you will discover.

For those looking to kick-back and relax we have delightful beachfront cafés, scenic coastal walks, a vibrant Arts & Culture scene and one of the greatest gardens of Europe – Tresco Abbey Garden.

If you’re seeking action and thrills, there are plenty of Activities to seek out - you can dive, sail, kayak, windsurf, paddle board, horse ride, explore on mountain bikes and take part in organised sea-swims, to name a few activities. You can Walk & Hike, Cycle, Shop and of course enjoy Boat trips and Tours that will enable you to soak up the islands' atmosphere, our unique archaeological sites and our extraordinary Wildlife.

There is also a varied and vibrant Events programme throughout the season, kick starting with Walk Scilly week and the Folk Scilly Festival, both in April. Then we have the famous World Pilot Gig Championships held every year during the first Bank Holiday in May.

Throughout the spring, summer and autumn, there are island fetes, RNLI days, plus music, sports and food festivals. Numerous Scillonian bands also entertain at the pubs and clubs year round. In short, there is something for everyone if you like to be entertained. And if you don't? Well it's just as easy to slip away from it all to relax and recharge.

The Tourism Information Centre on Porthcressa Beach will give you the low-down. Pop in or follow @scillyTIC to keep up to date with What's On.
