Scilly Walks - St. Mary's
Scilly Walks is run by Dr Katharine Sawyer and offers guided walks, boat trips and slide shows to introduce you to 8000 years of archaeology and history in the Isles of Scilly. There are full day and half day visits to all the inhabited and several of the uninhabited islands.
Scilly has a greater density of ancient sites than anywhere else in Britain. You can see Bronze Age megalithic burial chambers and standing stones, an Iron Age settlement, early Mediaeval chapels, Tudor and Civil War castles and much more!
Scilly Walks offers a range of guided walks throughout the season. The trips to the uninhabited islands involve a beach landing by dinghy and you may need to paddle ashore.
Details and times of walks are posted on the Scilly Walks notice board on St Mary’s Quay, on the website and Facebook page and in the weekly ‘What’s On’ listing available from the Tourist Information Centre.
If there is an island or site that you would like to visit, please contact me two or three weeks before you come to Scilly and I will do my best to arrange that trip while you are here.
