Island Sea Safaris - St. Mary's
Island Sea Safaris operate marine wildlife safaris in their 8m RIB FIREBRAND IV around and amongst the islands and rocks of Scilly to see Grey Atlantic Seals, seabirds including Puffins, Razorbills and Guillemots from April until mid July, and some of the Island's shipwreck sites. We also visit many places of historical interest on our tours. The 8 meter rib seats 10 and Mark and his wife Susie like to give you a full, friendly and informative commentary during the trip which also has plenty of good photo opportunities.
We offer two trips, our most popular being the 2hour Shipwrecks, Seals and Seabirds tour which runs daily at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm. On a typical trip we would cover approximately 12 miles. The route varies according to weather, tide and time of year. This trips is particularly good for day trip visitors as you see a lot of the Isands in a short time. On the one hour trip we usually visit the Eastern Isles of Northern rocks to see the seals, perhaps a good choice for our much younger visitor.
Please note that because of the nature of the trip there may be occasional bumps due to possible sea conditions, however, the boat is driven in such a way as to minimise any jolts. Guests who have back or neck problems, or who are pregnant, should advise us at the time of booking so that we can discuss the suitability of the trip with them.
We run trips from Easter until the end of October. Weather permitting.
