Reasons to come to Scilly in 2017
There are many reasons to come to Scilly if you're looking for a specific festival to enjoy or an event to partake in. The season kicks off with the week-long Walk Scilly festival - which in 2017 takes place 1st to 7th April. Grab your walking boots and gaiters, and explore our archipelago with guided, themed walks and enjoy an extensive evening programme.
This is followed by a cracking weekend of ale and music at the Daymark Festival on St. Martin's over Easter weekend, the World Pilot Gig Championships during the early May Bank Holiday, and a month of arts and culture throughout May, including the ever popular Scilly Folk Festival during the late May Bank Holiday weekend. Ale and cider weekends all add to the mix!
In June, things get sporty - with the Tresco Triathlon on 11th June following by the amazing and challenging Otillo Swimrun Championship qualifier on 17th June.
Throughout August you can enjoy island fetes, RNLI days, exhibitions, touring theatre groups and more...
And then throughout September, Taste of Scilly returns with a mouthwatering celebration of the very best in local food and drink across the islands. Once again, there'll be pop-up barbecues, farm tours and tastings, gourmet meals, fabulous local produce markets and foodie themed nights.
Finally from 12th -16th October, we welcome the Walk Scilly Weekend - a vibrant festival to bring out the best of autumnal Scilly - fantastic wildlife, silky hues and some magical guided walks.
If you're looking to time your visit, why not check out the Isles of Scilly Events page? You can also keep up to date on Twitter @ScillyTIC during your stay.
