Reasons to come to Scilly in 2018
There are many reasons to come to Scilly if you're looking for a specific festival to enjoy or an event to partake in. The season kicks off with the Walk Scilly Festival which has been extended to 10 days this year. This takes place 4th to 14th April. Grab your walking boots and gaiters, and explore our archipelago with guided, themed walks and enjoy an extensive evening programme.
The World Pilot Gig Championships, Art Scilly, the Scilly Swim Challenge and the ever popular Scilly Folk Festival all take place during May with ale and cider weekends added to the mix!
In June the amazing and challenging Otillo Swimrun Championship qualifier takes place along with the first of 3 low tide events between Tresco and Bryher.
Throughout August you can enjoy island fetes, RNLI days, exhibitions, touring theatre groups and more... And then throughout September, Taste of Scilly returns with a mouth-watering celebration of the very best in local food and drink across the islands.
Finally from 11th -15th October, we welcome the Walk Scilly Weekend - a vibrant festival to bring out the best of autumnal Scilly - fantastic wildlife, silky hues and some magical guided walks.

The Isles of Scilly are preparing to host one of world sport’s most daunting challenges: the UK leg of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series on Saturday 9th June, which will see more than 110 pairs tackling a course of nearly 40km, alternating between running and open-water swimming.
