the islands

  1. Things to Do
Island walks, fun on the water, fantastic wildlife, island hopping, exquisite flora, amazing artists, and a fascinating history and heritage.
  2. Island Hopping
With five inhabited islands and lots of uninhabited islands, one of the most enjoyable things to do on Scilly is 'island hopping' using "tripper" boats.
  3. Explore
Take a look at the adventures you can have. Explore all the Isles of Scilly has to offer with beaches, island hopping and days bobbing on the water.
  4. Arts & Culture
Scilly has inspired a thriving artistic community. Creativity abounds on every island, inspired by our stunning surroundings.
  5. Food & Drink
Nowhere is more local than the food and drink sourced, grown, and reared across our five tiny inhabited islands
  6. What's On in 2024
Our inspirational events programme over the coming weeks will give you more reasons to explore these magical islands in all their natural glory.

choose

your season

  1. Spring
Spring comes early to Scilly and with it a skip in the air and a true sense of wellness. Boatmen can be spotted at Porthloo boat yard launching their trusty workhorses having given them their annual lick of paint. Cottage owners, shops and restaurants put the finishing touches to their new season makeovers.
  2. Summer
Oh Scilly in summer, what can we say? Bright, white; perfection on a pint-sized plate! Crystal clear seas and warm cobalt blue skies bring out the best of these islands.
  3. Autumn
The colours of the islands soften, yielding hues to delight artists everywhere. Set up your easel, or stretch your legs and walk the islands. Listen, along the way, for migrating birds making their annual pilgrimage; look out for fluffy seal pups that line the rocky coast. The islands brim with wildlife at this time of year.
  4. Winter
Winter is the time of year when Scillonians draw breath and visitors enjoy a true taste of island life. A time to enjoy windswept walks and appreciate the low winter light raking across the isles, to hunker down as the storms whistle through, and watch the slate grey waves whip the rocky coastlines.
