CREATIVE SCILLY FESTIVAL is back with over forty events across the islands featuring Scillonian inspired arts and culture, between 13th and 22nd May.
Local creatives will open their galleries and studios for a range of participatory workshops and classes, working with glass, clay, textiles, watercolours and more.
Music will feature local bands along with guests Jolly Roger bringing their unique blend of shanty vibes and Celtic punk, the acclaimed Dr Funk coming to Scilly for the first time and the return of Hurdy Gurdy player Keith Allen.
Theatre includes ‘Superstition Mountain’ directly from the Minack as well as a visit from Bec Appleby and Annamarie Murphy who are creating new work exploring the building of the Bishop Rock Lighthouse.
Wellbeing activity features Nature Journalling with local artist Emma Bennett in the magical Carreg Dhu gardens, along with the invigorating combination of poetry and sea swimming with women from the Morvoren project.
Local History events include an archaeological walk on Bryher and a repeat of last year’s sell out ‘Night at the Museum’ with a chance to review plans for the future of the Town Hall.
