About
St Martin's vineyard was established in 1996 by Val & Graham Thomas - originally as a holiday hobby. The first of the vines trialled were white varieties - Reichensteiner and Madeleine Angevine. Now, we produce five different wines; three white, one rose, and one red. We offer self-guided tours and wine tastings throughout the summer season. Self guided tours begin at our visitor centre and take you through the site and up to the top field with panoramic views out over the Eastern Isles before returning for al fresco wine tasting in front of the winery. The nine Vine Stops will introduce the site, the vines, the wine making technique and the unique aspects of the site as well as some of the fauna and flora which call this vineyard their home. The wine tasting is an opportunity to try out still white and rose wines, created from the grapes you will have seen on your tour and fermented in the winery next to the tasting area. There is also opportunity to buy the wine as well as our vineyard apple juice and other local produce at the end of your tour. Children and well behaved dogs are welcome!

Opening Times
2021 (1 Mar 2021 - 31 Oct 2021) |
---|
* We are open for self-guided tours and tastings every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.45am - 4.00pm, and additional days throughout the week depending on the weather. If the logistics of your stay mean that you cannot visit on a formal 'open' day, please get in touch with us and we will do our best to accommodate your visit wherever possible - please check our website for up-to-date information on our opening hours this week: www.stmartinsvineyard.co.uk
All seating is outdoors and in the open - we are happy to provide tours and tastings whatever the weather but the experience will be much more pleasant when the weather is dry. When the weather forecast is poor - either with rain or strong winds - we will offer alternative opening days for that particular week to coincide with better conditions.
Booking, whilst not essential, would be greatly appreciated - you can do so on our website (www.stmartinsvineyard.co.uk). We do have a maximum capacity for tasting at any one time, in common with most establishments serving food and drink. If you book with us in advance, we can secure you a slot - otherwise there may be a short delay at busy times whilst we undertake cleaning between visitors.
