No matter which island you're staying on, you can easily catch a boat to your accommodation or enjoy daily island-hopping adventures. With the islands just 15–25 minutes apart by boat, exploring a new one each day is effortless and exciting!
If you're arriving by air to St. Mary's, Island Transfers will meet every flight and transport you and your luggage to the quay for a small fee.
If you’re staying on St. Agnes, then you’ll need to contact St. Agnes Boating to find out the inter-island boating schedule. They visit St. Mary’s every day, and at least one of the other off islands. They post the weekly schedule and special excursions on a dedicated Facebook page and on the St. Agnes noticeboards – at the quay, the island’s shop, and the campsite. If the scheduled service doesn’t suit, or you simply want a boat at a special time or to a special place, this can nearly always be arranged (tides and weather permitting!).
If you’re staying on Tresco or Bryher, the inter-island boating is run by Tresco Boat Services. They post a weekly schedule on their website and visit St. Mary’s every day the Scillonian is sailing and at least one of the other islands most days. You can also arrange “specials” (boat taxis) outside the scheduled services for any particular occasion and enjoy scenic boat trips.
For those staying on St. Mary's and St. Martin's, the tripper boats to the other islands are run by St. Mary’s Boatmen’s Association. They post their itineraries on their dedicated Facebook page and on their noticeboards on St. Mary's.
For trips across the islands, Endeavour Rib Service, Raptor Boating and Sea Quest Glass Bottom Boat offer a wide range of services from direct transfers and evening trips, to bespoke charters and marine wildlife watching expeditions. Further details on their scheduled services and chartered trips can be found on the Endeavour Rib Service dedicated Facebook page, Raptor boating website and on the Sea Quest Glass Bottom Boat dedicated Facebook page.
There are also a multitude of other options for experiencing and travelling to and around the islands below, such as hiring a boat, kayaking, or taking a tour.
